SZN Focus Run Club Week 16: New Faces and Friendly Competition

SZN Focus Run Club Week 16: New Faces and Friendly Competition

Today marked the 16th week of our run club, and we’re thrilled to see the group’s consistency and enthusiasm growing stronger each week. With six members showing up, we had a great mix of familiar faces and a new addition, Michael, who joined us for his first session. Welcome to the club, Michael!

The Run

This week, the group hit the pavement together, running at a steady 6:00 p/km pace. Damario and Ben opted for a brisk walk instead, proving that our club is open to all fitness levels and encourages everyone to move at their own pace. The camaraderie during the run was as strong as ever, with plenty of encouragement and laughs shared along the way.

Post-Run Fun

After wrapping up the run, the group stayed back for our traditional game of Bus Stop. For those unfamiliar, it’s a friendly yet competitive game that always brings out the best (and sometimes sneaky tactics) in everyone. This week, it became especially heated when one member, jokingly but determinedly, tried to convince everyone to take a week off so he could catch up on the leaderboard. Nice try, but we’re all about showing up and pushing each other to improve!

Highlights

  • New Member Spotlight: Michael’s first run with us was a great success, and we’re excited to see him become a regular.

  • Inclusive Movement: Damario and Ben demonstrated that whether you’re running or walking, the important thing is showing up and staying active.

  • Game On: The post-run Bus Stop session brought plenty of laughs and a bit of friendly banter, as always.

Join Us Next Week

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, just starting out, or looking for a supportive group to stay active with, we’d love to have you join us. Run Club meets every week, and there’s always a mix of running, walking, and fun to go around.
