This past Sunday, our weekly basketball scrimmage at NCC Epping Forest College hit a new milestone! From 4-6 PM, the gym was buzzing with energy, competition, and camaraderie as we hosted our third session since starting back up—and for the first time, we had a full house.
The Format
Our scrimmage format is simple but keeps everyone engaged: three teams—Black, White, and Green—face off in three rounds. Each team plays the others once per round, for a total of nine games. It’s fast-paced, competitive, and a ton of fun.
The Highlights
Dominant White Team
The White team was on fire this week, securing the most wins and dominating the rounds with consistency. Their teamwork, hustle, and a few clutch plays made them the team to beat.
Aaron Binning: The MVP
Special shoutout to Aaron Binning, our MVP of the day! Aaron’s sharp shooting from beyond the arc was nothing short of spectacular. He drained 3-pointers with ease, leading his team to six wins. His performance kept the crowd hyped and gave the White team a much-needed edge in close games.
A Surprise Guest
We were thrilled to have ex-Westminster Warriors player Jon J join us this week. His skill, court vision, and ability to school defenders reminded everyone of what high-level basketball looks like. It’s not every day you get to go head-to-head with someone of Jon’s caliber, and his presence definitely raised the bar for everyone.
Green Team’s Grit
The Green team also deserves a shoutout for their strong showing. They finished second in wins, proving to be tough competition in every game. Their effort and chemistry stood out, making the games exciting and unpredictable.
